• Lazy 5 Ranch - Mooresville.  A privately owned exotic animal drive-thru park that offers a 3.5 mile safari through the gently sloping pasturelands of Piedmont with  over 750 animals from six different continents. (No debit or credit cards).
• Paramount’s Carowinds Water & Amusement Park – Charlotte
• Renaissance Festival - The Carolina Renaissance Festival is a medieval amusement park, a 9-stage theater, a 20-acre circus, an arts and crafts fair, a jousting tournament and a feast. Weekends, October7th – November 19^th, 2006.

 Mooresville

• You can choose from Mooresville’s 10 public parks, including Bellingham Park with 47 acres of walking and bike trails, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits and a playground.
• The new Lowe's YMCA offer’s a wide array of exercise equipment and classes, as well as children’s after-school activities and youth sports.

Shopping and Convenience

• Wal-Mart Supercenter’s (walmart.com) and Super Target’s (target.com) are all over the area, go to their website to find a location nearest you.  
• The open-air Birkdale Village in Huntersville offers a Barnes & Noble, Williams Sonoma, Talbots, Banana Republic, Dick’s Sporting Goods, plus an assortment of fine and casual restaurants.
• Northlake Mall in north Charlotte features more than 150 stores and a 15-screen movie theater. The Northlake development will eventually expand to include NorthCrest, a 365,000-square-foot, open-air mall.
• Concord Mills is in Concord and offers more than 200 stores and a 24-screen movie theater, and SouthPark mall in Charlotte, features high-end stores including Nordstrom, Louis Vuitton, Burberry and kate spade. Neiman Marcus and other top-drawer retailers will open in 2006.
